Q: How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
A: It's important to get a good night's rest and eat a meal before your appointment. Avoid alcohol and drugs as they can thin your blood and make the tattooing process more difficult. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area you want to get tattooed. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment will help keep your skin hydrated, making it easier for the artist to work with. Moisturize the area of the tattoo before and after the tattoo. Bring something sugary to eat or drink to your appointment (no energy drinks) Please shower before arriving at your appointment. it is important because the artist will be up close to the skin and needs clean skin.

Q: How do I take care of my new tattoo?
A: We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions after your tattoo appointment. Generally, you'll need to keep the area clean, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, and avoid swimming or soaking in water for a few weeks while it heals.

Proper aftercare is essential for ensuring that your new tattoo heals properly and looks its best. Here are some tips for tattoo aftercare:
1. Keep the bandage on for a few hours. Your tattoo artist will likely cover your tattoo with a bandage or plastic wrap to protect it from bacteria and irritation. Leave it on for a few hours, or as directed by your artist.
2. Wash the tattoo gently. After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with mild, fragrance-free soap and warm water. Use your hand to clean the area, rather than a washcloth or sponge.
3. Apply a thin layer of ointment or lotion. After washing, pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of tattoo-specific ointment or fragrance-free lotion to help keep the skin moisturized and promote healing. Be sure to follow your artist's instructions for which products to use and how often to apply them.
4. Keep the tattoo clean and moisturized. In the first few days after getting a tattoo, it's important to keep the area clean and moisturized. Avoid tight clothing or anything that may rub against the tattoo, and keep it out of direct sunlight, tanning beds, and tanning creams. Avoid overworking the tattooed area, this can cause ink to push out of your body.
5. Avoid picking or scratching at the tattoo. As the tattoo heals, it may become itchy. However, it's important to resist the urge to scratch or pick at the area, as this can lead to scarring and other complications.
6. Be patient. It can take several weeks for a tattoo to fully heal, so be patient and follow your artist's aftercare instructions. If you notice any signs of infection or other issues, contact your artist or a healthcare professional right away.
